Cruiser was born at our kennel and as a really young puppy his personality and retrieving drive stole my heart. I was going to keep a female from the litter and didn't need another male at the time but I just couldn't part with Cruiser. He was special. He was always on a mission to check something out and would come running faster than his legs could carry him and leap at me when I called him so I named him "Cruiser." His favorite thing as a young puppy was to chase and carry around coke cans...as you can see from one of the photos he still enjoys that! His goal in life is to always have something in his mouth. Whether it be a flower pot, piece of wood, rag, or anything he can find lying around the acreage. His joy for retrieving is exceptional and he always feels very proud when he can find an object and bring it to you. Cruiser loves to be around people and is very affectionate, easy going, and goofy. He has exceptional temperament and gets along great with other dogs, children, and loves to get petted and scratched as often as he can. He craves interaction with people and loves to work/please. In the field Cruiser is a very hard going retriever who is a good marking dog and swimmer yet is very obedient and in control. In summer of 2010 he completed his Working Certificate and Junior Hunter titles. In the Summer of 2011 Cruiser completed his Working Certificate Intermediate title and went 4 out of 4 to complete his Senior Hunter title. In the spring of 2012 Cruiser completed his CD title in obedience by passing 3/3 with very nice scores. In the summer of 2012 Cruiser completed his Working Certificate Excellent title and his Master Hunter title and has passes towards his Grand Master Hunter. In the summer of 2014 Cruiser finished the requirements for his Grand Master Hunter title.
Cruiser's parents: Bear and Callie.
Cruiser's mother, Callie, is also the mother of both Hawk and Moxie and she has produced some phenominal working dogs for our breeding program. Cruiser is no exception. Cruiser's dad, Bear, is a large very handsome male from Arizona who is an extremely acccomplished hunt and field titled male. I have had the pleasure of meeting Bear a couple times now and he is a wonderful dog who is easy to be around with a great temperament and I can certainly see a lot of his traits in Cruiser.
